World Space Week, is the largest annual space event celebrated worldwide with 1,400 events in more than 80 countries during the week. It is an exciting international astronomical event organized by the United Nations General Assembly from October 4-10 every year based on a specific theme. SPACE, invites all to share their passion for astronomy throughout the month of October and recommends the conduction of any Astronomy event during World Space Week to popularize Astronomy on the theme ‘Exploring new Worlds in Space’, the theme for 2017.

SPACE has provided suggestions and guidance to enable students all over India to participate in various internationally acclaimed activities on the theme, ‘Exploring New Worlds in Space’ as announced by UN. Students are also invited to participate in an Online Inter-School Astrotoon Competition & ‘Sat from Trash Competition organized by SPACE for school students. Additionally, a few exciting activities recommended by WSW are – Build your own model space craft, Explore the world with Google Earth, Cosmic Evening, Astrocooking and many more.
